Restuss, the Final Victory

What a finish to my Star Wars 24 (30 hour including last night) Mayhem! Let me first fill you in on the finally of my 24 hours.

In my "GCW Grind" post, I told you that I was heading to space for loot. That didn't last long! Not only was the loot bad, but I rarely got any. So, I headed to the Geonosian Caves to hunt the Acklay. I quickly got to the end of the caves and found another player who had just killed the creature. Unfortunately, it takes the Acklay two hours to spawn. It will always mystify me that you can travel to a remote planet, with no player cities, then travel to the middle of nowhere to some remote cave, and find a just one player, not even a group! But things turned out for the best. I grouped with him and killed stuff as I waited. To my surprise, the loot in the Geo Caves has a high consistency of being good, and will sometime be great! In fact, the guy I grouped with was there just for loot. Anyway, the Acklay spawned, we took it down, and guess what I got? A badge! Yes, that is the reason I went there, to get that badge. But I will be going back for the loot!

This is where things start to get interesting. I started heading out of the caves to go trade with some guy, when lo and behold, he was coming into the caves! He innocently asked if I wanted to trade my armor and I agreed. Here's what I got out of the deal: full set of black, capped composite armor, and a full set of green, capped bounty hunter armor. The deal we had made earlier also included 4 million credits, which I need, but I was getting such a good deal without it that I let him keep it. All I traded to him was a full set of cyan, capped composite armor. He wanted my armor because it matched his Mandalorian helmet. After the trade, I put my armor new bounty hunter armor on. He claimed he was bugged and told me to take it off. So I did, and he killed me, literally with my pants down. Why? That's a good question, with a good answer. It turns out that he is a bounty hunter; he had found me earlier in the day (like 8 hours earlier!) and was going to kill me then, when he noticed my armor. He could not find any like it, anywhere, so he wanted it bad! I said no at first, but obviously changed my mind. When we finally made the trade, the bounty was still on my head, and he stayed true to the bounty hunter code, "use any dirty means necessary". I was furious! I told him how so, and he admitted to feeling bad, real bad, four letter word with -ing bad. But he ended up explaining it all, and I ended up helping him collect bounties, receiving a little bit of the pay. Funny how things work. And so ended the second 24 Hours Star Wars Mayhem.

Now, for last night with my bro. I did some PvP in the beginning while he leveled up, then we headed to Deatn Watch Bunker. That was fun, but a little bit slow, so we headed to Restuss. There, we did a little bit of PvPing and some commendation grinding. The rebels eventually took over en mass, so my brother headed out to level for the rest of the night. He ended up getting to level 80, he started at 77. I, on the other hand, stayed in Restuss. At times I did nothing but talk with new friends, but we also did do some special forces type attacks. Me and two guys were able to get to the edge of the city, blow stuff up, take down some NPCs, and even capture control points. We died at times, but in general were very irritating. On one of the runs, the cavalry arrived in the form of a group of 8, including two medics. Out manned, we were able to drive the rebel scum out of the city and hold it until the server shut down. The rebels launched several attacks, but they were all poorly planned. One of them put most of their men into a bottle-neck between two buildings. For a commando, like me, with a gun that covers the entire area, its PvP heaven. From the initial battle until shutdown, I don't think I died, thanks to the medics. The rebels eventually gave up, and we turned to commendation grinding. And so ended part II of my second Star Wars Mayhem.

It's Headed to Overtime!

My 24 hours of Star Wars Mayhem is over, but if that wasn't enough for you, my brother and I are going to play tonight until 7 or so in the morning. When we are done, and after I sleep, I will post another blog filling you in on what happened at the end of my 24 hours and what happens tonight. I promise that will be one of the best ones yet. Until then,

GCW Grind

Well, for the past ?? hours I have been grinding GCW points and commendations. That's the pattern things fall into: fight for city, take city, control city, grind GCW stuff, lose city. And eventually, we lost the city. I have about 4 hours left, and I think I'm gonna kill it in space. I've been told that the way to make lots-o-credits is by auctioning of looted space ship parts, so I'm gonna keep all of my loot and find out.

Indescribable

Wow, that's all I can say about the last 4 hours. I did in fact go to Restuss, and started a group. There was a bit of a miscommunication, and I charged into the city thinking it was occupied by Imperials. It wasn't, and I ignited an enormous battle. As it wore on, I went around the back and was able to steal a check point undetected. I held the position for about five minutes before being overrun. As I died, I realized my mistake, and after cloning I quickly got a strike force together. We again used the back door and captured a vital check point; Imperial Stormtroopers began spawning enforce. We were soon overwhelmed, but did not back down. After an unsuccessful attack we were able to capture the entire city, starting with that one checkpoint. We held the city for 30 minutes or so, but were again overwhelmed, this time 3 or 4 to 1. I continued to lead attacks against the city for awhile, but it was soon apparent we would not reclaim it. I decided to head to Kashyyyk, with two Imperial friends, and fight N-K Necrosis, or the General Grievous clone. We quickly beat Necrosis, and that is where we are now. I think I might help a friend with quests, and then, back to Restuss, or maybe Avatar.

P.S. Another special thanks to my sister, who brought me a cup of hot chocolate and one of those French flake roles with chocolate cream in the middle.

Sergeant Yerxak

Well, it has been a fairly tough morning so far. Restuss quickly fell to the Rebels, and all attempts to reclaim it failed. After about 3 hours in Restuss, I headed to Dantooine with a spy, thats him in the red, and started grinding GCW points. After an hour with him, he left and I headed to Nashal, Talus, where things are starting to look up. On Talus I found a group and started hunting Rebels. After an hour the GCW point system recalculated and I was promoted to Sergeant.

I think I'm gonna head back to Restuss now and check out the situation. I'm also gonna put the soundtrack to Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace in for my listening enjoyment.

For the glory of the Empire,
Sergeant Xyleph Yerxak

P.S. Whenever I don't post for a long time, I am most likely in the middle of a heated PvP battle, and have not forgotten you all.

P.P.S. A special thanks to my loving, caring mother who keeps me fed and hydrated through these exciting 24 hours.

A Slight Tactical Error

Well, it seems I have made a slight tactical error: the server doesn't reset until 6 a.m. So instead of avoiding the server restart by starting at 5, I started just in time to do some pvping, and then be frustrated by the "Warning, the server is going to restart. Find a safe place to log out. (15 min left)" message. Who knows how long the server will stay down, so I guess I'll come back at 7:30.

It's On!

Well, it has been a while since my last post, but don't worry, I haven't forgotten. The countdown timer is negative now, so it's game time! If all goes according to plan, I will play Star Wars Galaxies from about 5 a.m. (or whenever the server comes online) Thursday morning until the server resets on Friday morning. The total time will be about 22 hours, but without getting too technical, I will have played Star Wars Galaxies for 24 hours straight. Here's what I plan to do tomorrow:
  • Defend or attack Restuss
  • Do some piloting
  • Take out a couple of Krayt Dragons
  • Try to run the Geonosian Labs
  • Fight in the Myyydril Caverns
  • Try to run Avatar Platform
  • Keeps you guys informed of what's going on
  • Listen to the Star Wars soundtracks I have
  • Record some sweet war time footage for a movie
And so without further gilding the lily and with no more ado1, I give you, 24 Hour Star Wars Mayhem
